Era il 1984 quando i due fratelli Christian e Thomas Meyer hanno fondato il brand spagnolo, che è diventato oggi un marchio a diffusione internazionale. Con abbigliamento per donna, uomo e bambino, e accessori e complementi quali scarpe, borse, foulard, collane e orecchini, i due fratelli Meyer hanno portato la filosofia Desigual, basata sulla positività e sul divertimento che gli abiti possono trasferire al prossimo grazie alle stampe stravaganti e ai colori sgargianti, in tutto il mondo e da qualche tempo anche in Italia. Un tripudio di allegria, di brio che farà sorridere anche le personalità più cupe che non rinunciano ad uno stile classico e quindi indossano un tubino ma lo fanno con quella verve che ricorda tanto la cultura spagnola. Il marchio spagnolo non solo usa tessuti semplici: sull'essenziale crea mondi fantastici e realizza i temi del sogno, rompendo gli schemi, osando e andando diritto al bersaglio. Each season the Desigual design team – comprising twenty designers – dreams up a collection of over 1,000 items, counting clothes and accessories, built around one single concept, one common thread that makes the line whole resonate to the same philosophy. Thus Real Life, Magic Stories, Luxury Feelings, Me&You, Better&Better, Wow and Life is Cool, are indeed some of the leitmotifs that Desigual has brought very much to the fore.

The Desigual collections – for women, men and children – very much respond to the prevailing demand for wellbeing, quality of life, free time or ecological style. The products in these lines, designed without a glance at the current trends, seek to be special clothes. They offer high added value as they are produced in parts, each with its own design, colour and fabric, and then assembled in different combinations. Desigual does not use material in the conventional way, indeed patchworks of off-cuts of different kinds of material is one of the firm’s signs of identity. The spirit is young and happy-go-lucky, improvised and spontaneous, but with a perceptible dose of style and fashion.
